THE PROJECT
The Campus Green Guide, a custom publication of Unified Media at Ball State University, was created for students as a response to millennials’ concern for emerging environmental and natural resource issues. This guide introduces the Ball State community on living lightly; provides a list of local businesses that are environmentally friendly, outdoor activities for wellness, like-minded organizations that students can join; and practical solutions.
Most of all, this guide aimed to motivate the Ball State community to explore their community and challenge them to make small changes in their daily lives.
MY ROLE
As founder and editor-in-chief of the Campus Green Guide, I directed the editorial team, assigned stories, and copyedited the publication. It was an honor to collaborate with talented student journalists and see the first Campus Green Guide come to fruition. Following the publication of the guide, I was awarded with “Excellence in Leadership” at the 2017 Ball State Journalism Department’s Louie Awards.
